Mathilda Homer
25-year-old Mathilda Homer’s contemporary soul blends jazz and hip hop production with narrative songwriting.
After leaving London for rural England in her formative years, Mathilda’s alternative education lead her to pursue music from a young age.
Born to two established composers, music filled their home and inspiration was found everywhere. Growing up in a social household, Mathilda grew to be a natural performer and turned away from academia in favour of exploring her creative side.
Her earliest influences range from all-time classic songwriters like Nina Simone and Leonard Cohen to folk heroes like Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell – but it wasn’t until Mathilda returned to London in her late teens that she became exposed to the broadest range of musical influences, shown to her by her writing partner, executive producer and best friend Isaac Waddington.
